Join the Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement as a Health Insurance Specialist developing the compliance, audit, and oversight processes that keep healthcare programs accountable. At CMS, you'll analyze policy, review provider applications, and support decisions that protect the integrity of programs serving 150+ million Americans—with room to grow from GS-9 to GS-12. Your work could strengthen oversight of American healthcare. Are you ready to get started? Responsibilities Analyze data, policies, or program requirements to support decision-making and improve operational outcomes Develop, implement, and evaluate programs, processes, or initiatives aligned with organizational goals Prepare reports, briefings, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure effective program execution and compliance Qualifications Education may substitute for experience at GS-9 and GS-11 (see announcement for details) Grade Levels: GS-0107-9/11/12 (4 vacancies) — career ladder to GS-12 Required Skills Experience researching and applying Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, or ACA statutes, regulations, or guidance (particularly Medicare institutional payment policy) to support compliance determinations Background drafting technical documents to communicate findings to providers, contractors, or federal partners Experience reviewing provider applications, program data, or audit reports to identify compliance issues None specified.
