M&J is seeking Materials Inspectors to perform field sampling and testing of construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete. Responsibilities • Perform field sampling and testing of construction materials including soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete.
• Conduct density testing, compaction testing, and materials sampling in accordance with the VDOT Materials Manual of Instructions (MOI).
• Document materials testing results and maintain testing records.
• Coordinate materials testing with project inspection staff and contractor personnel.
• Verify materials incorporated into the project meet VDOT specifications and material acceptance requirements.
• Maintain calibration and operation of testing equipment including nuclear density gauges.
• Assist with documentation of test results for project records and pay estimate verification. Qualifications Required

- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in materials inspection or materials testing.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification.
• Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
- NICET Level II or III certification in Construction Materials Testing.
• TxDOT Material Testing and Inspection precertifications (Category 12).
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
