Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Schedule

This is a 4x12-hour day shift position, from 07:00 to 19:30, requiring work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse with a specialization in Labor & Delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-acuity environments and a solid understanding of high-risk obstetrical care. Nurses will function as Baby Nurses during deliveries and are responsible for the ongoing care of newborns until transfer to postpartum. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in required skills, specifically circulating during deliveries and providing necessary newborn care.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and assist during high-risk deliveries, ensuring the comfort and safety of mothers and newborns.
• Provide comprehensive newborn care, including assessments and administration of necessary medications.
• Engage in patient education and support during postpartum care.
• Float as needed to postpartum and antepartum units or other sister facilities.
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines and maintain up-to-date knowledge on current practices and technologies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, with a strong preference for those with high-risk experience.
• Current RN license must be in hand at submission (compact license accepted).
• Must have active BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced certifications preferred.
• Proven supervisory experience and current references are required.
• Must pass clinical review prior to starting the position.
