RN - PACU

PACU Registered Nurse - Travel Position

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours, including Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends/Holidays, with no guarantee of hours or shift preference. On-call shifts may be required 0-3 times per month.

The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for caring for patients in pre-op, Phase I and Phase II recovery. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of anesthesiology and the ability to provide critical care following surgery. PACU nurses are expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge in monitoring patient stability, assessing incision sites, and responding to complications.

• Provide care for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Monitor vital signs, incision sites, and other indicators of patient stability.
• Respond to potential complications and implement critical care protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Document patient progress and recovery in medical records.

• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (ER or ICU) is considered acceptable.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• A valid Hawaii RN license is required by the start of the assignment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential is recommended; additional certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) may be required for specific positions.
