Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, applicable Nurse Practice Acts, the nursing process, and regulatory standards to ensure excellent patient outcomes and shared leadership within the unit.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently utilize resources and supplies to promote cost savings. Manage time effectively by delegating tasks and scheduling proactively based on patient acuity and census. Engage in ongoing education to implement cost-saving practices.
• Quality: Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including meaningful use and nurse-sensitive indicators. Demonstrate critical thinking, multitasking, and thorough documentation in line with unit and hospital standards. Apply evidence-based practices and assign patient care based on nurse expertise and patient needs.
• Community Service and Patient Satisfaction: Represent the healthcare facility positively in community and hospital-sponsored events. Actively contribute to patient satisfaction through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and professionalism. Foster a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students.
• Patient Safety: Integrate safe patient care practices daily, including fall prevention, safe mobilization, medication administration, and patient identification. Report near misses and participate in proactive error reduction. Adhere to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, national safety standards, and social media policies.
• Professional Growth: Demonstrate leadership as a charge RN, mentor, and preceptor. Maintain licensure and pursue certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities. Stay current with practice standards and track professional development.
• Customer Service: Deliver care based on relationship-based and unit nursing care models, embracing holistic approaches for diverse populations. Uphold customer service standards, address ethical concerns, and foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.

Education and Experience Required:

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Proficiency with computer systems is necessary.
• At least three years of recent critical care nursing experience is required.
