Position Overview

Our organization is currently looking for candidates to fill an Open Rank, Open Track faculty role within the Department of Medicine, specifically in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in classical or non-malignant hematology. The rank and tenure status will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications.

The Classical Hematology Program at our institution comprises a dedicated group of physicians specializing in a variety of benign hematologic conditions. These include disorders related to hemostasis and thrombosis, various anemias, platelet disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and other rare hematologic diseases. While the primary focus of this position is on non-malignant hematology, there is an opportunity to incorporate aspects of malignant hematology based on the candidate's clinical interests and background.

• Provide clinical care to adult patients in both outpatient and inpatient consult settings.
• Engage in clinical and/or translational research to support the division's academic mission.
• Participate actively in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.

Our facility is situated at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the picturesque city of Charlottesville, Virginia, which is frequently recognized as one of the best places to live in the United States.

• Applicants must possess an MD or equivalent degree and be board certified or eligible in Hematology. Board certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.
• Strong interest in an academic medicine career, evidenced by experience in research and/or medical education.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in classical (non-malignant) hematology are essential, along with a willingness to engage in clinical investigation and/or translational collaborations.
