Facilities Manager

Overview The University of Southern California School of Architecture seeks an experienced facilities professional to join our team as a Facilities Manager . The ideal candidate will have experience solving complex problems, provide excellent customer service, have strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects, maintain a calm and positive demeanor. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Finance and works closely with the Dean and school leadership. The Facilities Manager will perform a variety of duties, including: Responsibilities Supervises employees and student workers, as assigned. Schedules, assigns and prioritizes workloads. Sets deadlines. Monitors performance to ensure timely completion of the unit\'s work. Coordinates with university departments and/or outside contractors and vendors for facilities operations, maintenance, construction, and renovation projects. Develops and administers the annual operating budget for facilities managed. Reviews, authorizes, and monitors expenses for utilities, materials and supplies, repairs, maintenance, and project work. Provides budget reports regularly. Prepares long- and short-range plans for the use of facilities. Maintains analysis of space and equipment requirements and allocates usage based on departmental priorities. Works with Student Services and faculty on classroom scheduling and space allocation for studio, lectures, and guest speakers. Develops and implements deferred maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Manages environmental health and safety programs. Conducts safety inspections and determines whether conditions are safe, and initiates remedial actions. Maintains compliance records. Conducts periodic security surveys. Coordinates and resolves security concerns. Controls procedures for facility access, including establishment of guidelines for issuing keys and maintaining related records. Inspects equipment and coordinates required repairs and/or purchases. Has broad knowledge of space planning and management, including classroom support and learning spaces. Has broad knowledge of technology projects and alignment of technology/infrastructure with capital investment priorities. Coordinates and monitors construction and renovation projects. Provides cost and status reports as requested. Develops and implements security-related procedures, such as office opening/closing routines, duress recognition, and key controls. Coordinates security activities with the university Public Safety Department. Promotes security awareness and maintains knowledge of crime prevention programs. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and mandatory reporter under the Clery Act; receives reports of crimes or incidents and notifies appropriate authorities as required. May provide facilities coverage for School of Architecture events and be available in the event of building emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary range is $115,000 - $124,204. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Education: Related undergraduate study; Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.
