The Phoenix Police Department is offering a $7,500 hiring bonus to new Police Officer/ Peace Officers. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as follows: on your check after swearing in as a Phoenix Police Officer and on your check following successful completion of probation. In addition, if you are referred to apply by a current city employee, that city employee may receive a bonus of $2,500 when you have successfully been hired and passed probation. The Above Comprehensive Benefits Package, Plus Police Officers who meet performance standards are eligible for annual merit step increases at approximately 5% to a current maximum base pay of $51.84 hourly, $107,827 annually. Applicants certified in another state other than Arizona, must have at least one full year of experience as a first responder (excluding academy, administrative and training assignments, or jail detention officer duties). This is a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation. Employees are required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Vacation and shift assignments are determined by seniority. Requires walking for prolonged periods which may include walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces.
