Staff Accountant (Hybrid)

As a Staff Accountant in our Housing Accounting team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statements. This includes taking the source information provided by various operating entries, recording accurate journal entries to produce a set of financial statements that are accurate, and preparing the operation schedules for the fiscal year-end audit. Responsibilities Assist with completion of Preliminary financials. Complete final financials. Assist with completion of Audited Financial Statements for assigned properties. Complete and distribute ABC reports to appropriate HUD office by deadline. Calculate PILOT tax amounts. Create and maintain thorough documentation for all major processes and procedures. Generate, print and distribute all financial statements and GL posting reports. Maintain Fixed Asset Database. Reconcile reserve accounts. Review source data information to produce accurate journal entries. Enter journal entries into the computer in a timely and accurate manner. Review the financial statements for accuracy. Complete bank reconciliations. Update audit schedules monthly. Report on the training of those providing source documentation monthly. Report deficiencies in internal control monthly. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience: None required; one year of accounting experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to comprehend complex concepts. Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, team environment. Licensure: None required.
