Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy Physical Therapy experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. They work in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, creating personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, examinations, and history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement therapy treatment plans with various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate and maintain specialized equipment and modalities safely. Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes accurately. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals for coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management. Maintain a safe environment with infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance, professional development, and stay current with best practices. Collaborate in discharge planning for smooth transitions. Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication. English language proficiency: reading, writing, and speaking. Ability to comprehend instructions, follow verbal cues, and proficiency with PCs. Physical abilities: able to remain stationary, move, lift 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, present positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, move around during procedures or equipment use. Mental requirements: cope with public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with occasional supervision, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration.
