EMT Student (Continuous Recruitment: Academy Class)

Mohawk is currently only offering Academy style EMT-B Courses, which run for approximately 7-8 weeks and meet Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm. The next academy class tentatively starts in March 2024. Mohawk offers two enrollment methods: Students can participate in Mohawk's EMT Educational Assistance Program. Students who participate in the program receive a $562.50 per week stipend, and the class, textbook, CPR card, and other materials are FREE. Students who participate must commit to work for Mohawk Ambulance for a 1-year period beginning after the student graduates, becomes NYS certified and clears new-hire field orientation. The current full-time, driver qualified EMT pay rate is $18.21. Or students can pay for the EMT course in full, $2,750.00, at the beginning of the course. Preference in the EMT Educational Assistance Program is given to prospective full-time employees, who are eligible to driver train, and are available on nights and weekends.
