Sr. Grants Accountant

Overview TheSeniorGrantsAccountant preparesaccurateandtimelyfinancialreporting for assigned grants. This role ensures compliance with grant requirements, AmeriCorps regulations, OMB/2 CFR200, GAAP, FASB standards, applicable laws, and internal controls.This role requires strong leadership skillsin support of the Grant Accounting teamto ensure grant invoicing and spend-down processes are efficient, compliant, andaccurate.Strict confidentiality of all accounting, payroll, employee, member, andorganizational information isrequired. Must be located in one of the following states - Minnesota, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Mississippi, New York, Virginia or Wisconsin Responsibilities GrantInvoicing Producetimelyandaccurateinvoiceswith adherence to the requirements set forthfor each assigned grant. Maintain knowledgebaseofall requirements for assigned grants. Monitor budget-to-actual performance forassignedgrants and communicate needed adjustmentsto program and accounting staff to ensureappropriate spend-down. Ensure compliance with all financial grant requirements, including OMB/2 CFR200 and grant specific terms. Grant Reporting Prepareaccurateandtimelygrant expenditure reports and financial reporting for government, corporate, and foundation grants. Review grantallocations details toensurealignment with spend-downstrategies. Verify accuracy of grant revenue and expenses by funder. Accounting Processes& Team Leadership Monitor Expense allocations to ensure cost areappropriatelyapplies. Review accounting transactions for proper coding, grant application, and allowability to reduce risk of disallowed costs. Completerequired tasks supportingyear-endand other financial monitoring activities Mentor the GrantsAccountants, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuousimprovement. Review andoversee allgrant spend-downs and help with implementations of set forth plans. Assistinimprovementofsystems and workflows to enhance processes and implementefficiencies.
