El/La director(a) del Departamento de Servicios Generales tendrá como función principal el dirigir y administrar todas las actividades del Departamento de Servicios Generales. El director de Servicios Generales tiene la responsabilidad de coordinar, planificar, programar y mejorar físicamente la vida útil del campus, manteniendo al mismo tiempo unas instalaciones plenamente operativas con un mínimo de interrupciones del servicio. Para ello; desarrollará y mantendrá vigente todas las políticas y procedimientos que componen al Departamento de Servicios Generales como: mantenimiento de planta física y/o instalaciones como áreas verdes, limpieza y desinfección, fumigación, servicios livianos, ebanistas, albañilería, refrigeración, plomería, carpintería, técnicos electricistas, almacenes, y el área administrativa o de oficina. Además, deberá participar en el desarrollo conceptual de obras y supervisar su organización, programación, presupuesto y ejecución para satisfacer los requerimientos técnicos, de costo, de tiempo que permitan finalizar con éxito todos los trabajos de mantenimiento y proyectos bajo su responsabilidad. Tendrá compromiso con la misión, visión y valores corporativos de la Universidad Politécnica de PR.
