At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our cooks bring the heart of Spain to every shift—whether it’s preparing morning mise en place for the day ahead or firing up signature dishes during a lively dinner service. From breakfast prep to dinner execution, you’ll work with precision, creativity, and pride, ensuring every plate reflects our high standards of flavor, presentation, and hospitality. Responsibilities Prepare mise en place for assigned station (grill, sauté, fry, or other hot stations). Execute dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of your station at all times. Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure consistency across shifts. Assist with receiving, labeling, and proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during AM and PM shifts. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures. Support other stations and assist with prep as needed. Skills Previous cooking experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant preferred. Solid knowledge of cooking techniques for hot foods. Flexibility to work both AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain).
