Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (0645-1915), 36 or 48 hours per week accepted. Every other weekend required. Must be available for holiday coverage. Contract duration: 13-26 weeks.

Highlights:

• General Medical/Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 43
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, IV teams, rapid response, and pharmacy
• Epic EMR system with 24 hours of paid orientation to ensure smooth onboarding
• Clinical procedures include heparin drips, wound VAC management, high-flow oxygen, and occasional BiPAP support
• Opportunity for charge nurse role, particularly on night shifts for experienced clinicians
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Must pass EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation testing prior to start
• CPI certification preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred, especially for night shift positions
• Proficiency in IV starts/maintenance, telemetry monitoring, heparin protocols, wound care, and surgical drain management
• Willingness to float to similar units and alternate care locations as needed
• Ability to participate in Inclement Weather Team and emergency response protocols
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)

• Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours for acute care), completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
• Time off requests: Up to 7 days may be approved in advance (no holidays; no RTO during first week)
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during contract period
• Candidates may be required to work during severe weather events or emergency situations
• Call coverage required if placed on call for a prescheduled shift
