About the Position

Any call offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly lead to cancellation. Must be able to work holidays. Possible care of COVID patients is required. Traveler will be assigned to an inclement weather team. Minimum years of experience required: 2 years. Traveler experience is accepted for first-time travelers. Locals are accepted, with a rate difference. Preferred skills include CPI and charge nurse experience. Target ratios are approximately 1:6. Shift is 3x12 from 06:45 to 19:15. 36 or 48 hours are accepted. A charge role is preferred for night travelers. The contract duration is 13 to 26 weeks. RTO is a maximum of 7 days for auto offers. Call requirement is necessary if placed on a prescheduled shift. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations is required. Weekend coverage includes assignment every other weekend. Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events or mass casualties. Daily patient census is around 43. Special procedures performed include heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high flow oxygen. No additional training is needed for limited short-term BiPap with respiratory support. All travelers and staff are required to attend unit team meetings. Meetings are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of each month from January through October. In November and December, meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month. Additional meetings for night shift staff will occur on the following Friday morning. Candidates must exhibit a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations. The call-off policy is strictly enforced. All testing must be completed within 48 hours after signing. Pre-start modules must be completed prior to starting and annually thereafter. Modules are conducted online and should be completed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as the browser. Overall, candidates must be flexible to meet patient care needs and unit requirements.
