Growing together.The Medicare Advantage (MA) Product Capabilities team provides management, strategic oversight, subject matter expertise, data analytics, data delivery and stewardship, and production support for technical assets which deliver Medicare Advantage product and benefit data across the enterprise. Our focus is to create sustainable solutions that drive efficiencies in operations where Medicare Advantage product data is needed.The Sr Product Data Analyst is a business-facing position that will specialize in managing eligibility and benefit programs, supporting vendors that administer supplemental Medicare Advantage benefits (such as fitness or transportation). Vendors and internal stakeholders consistently require data and ad-hoc analysis. This role ensures eligibility data is accurate, compliant with CMS regulations and UHG standards, and is delivered in accordance with established business requirements.The position requires a solid analytical mindset and the ability to understand the business processes and data supported by MA Product, then apply that knowledge to ensure our data products provide a seamless member experience. The role will work closely with team members across UnitedHealth Group, including product owners, account managers, IT partners, and vendors.If you reside within a commutable distance of either Minnetonka, MN or Fort Washington, PA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to design, implement, and support data solutionsInvestigate, troubleshoot, and work with technology teams to resolve data-related production issues impacting internal stakeholders and external partnersSupport implementation and ongoing management of data exchanges with external vendors and benefit administratorsValidate, reconcile, and monitor eligibility, utilization, and benefit data to ensure the accuracy of downstream reporting and vendor data exchangesEstablish a thorough understanding of the business (Medicare Product, Claims, Member eligibility) and collaborate with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to shape solutions, perform analyses, and interpret dataEngage with leadership teams to support ad-hoc data analysis primarily in SQL Server and Snowflake and present findingsDeliver high-quality data solutions that adhere to team standards, are scalable as the product grows, and are sustainable with minimal reworkDemonstrate leadership by independently driving work to completion while effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholdersContribute to analysis, problem definition, requirements, and proposed solutionsMaintain and expand technical expertise through continuing education, industry networking, and evaluation of emerging development tools and programming techniquesProvide timely status updates and communicate risks, dependencies, and project progress to stakeholdersProvide technical leadership by driving project teams toward established goals and promoting adherence to established design standardsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience developing complex SQL solutions with advanced or expert-level SQL proficiency3+ years of experience with scripting or programming languages (Python preferred)3+ years of data analysis and reporting experience3+ years of experience supporting Medicare Advantage programs, with a solid understanding of the Medicare Advantage line of businessPreferred Qualifications:Experience creating or maintaining Python scripts for ad-hoc file manipulationExperience with cloud-based databases (Snowflake, Databricks)*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
