Manager, Product Management (Platform)

Job Description Cat Digital is seeking a Manager-level Platform Product Manager to lead the strategy, definition, and delivery of AI- and autonomy-enabled capabilities on the Helios Platform. The role is responsible for driving platform-level product thinking, ensuring Helios evolves as a cohesive, scalable foundation that enables intelligent, API-driven, and autonomous workflows across Caterpillar’s digital ecosystem. As a product leader, you will operate at the intersection of platform product management and AI innovation, partnering closely with Cat Technology, engineering, and domain product teams to translate enterprise autonomy and AI investments into reusable, platform-native capabilities. You will shape the platform roadmap, guide product managers, and ensure delivery of high-impact capabilities that enable AI-native and autonomy-driven solutions at scale. What You Will Do Product Strategy & Vision (Autonomy + AI) Define and drive the product strategy for AI and autonomy capabilities within the platform, partnering cross-functionally to align with autonomous machine, digital twin, and AI roadmap integration. AI-Native Platform Capability Development Lead development of AI-powered platform services such as intelligent diagnostics and troubleshooting, predictive and prescriptive workflows, and autonomous decision-support systems. Drive transition from manual workflows to AI-assisted and agentic execution models. Autonomy Enablement (Machine à Platform à Ecosystem) Define platform capabilities that support autonomous machine operations, remote diagnostic, control, and automation, and closed-loop learning systems across fleets. Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration across Engineering, Architecture, and other product teams. Software Product Execution & Delivery. Ecosystem & Commercialization Readiness. What You Will Have Effective Communications: ability to transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas and needs through appropriate communication behaviors. Decision Making and Critical Thinking: knowledge of decision-making processes and tools; ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Software Product Business Knowledge: experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision. Software Product Management: knowledge of software product management; ability to operate and manage software product development projects at all stages of the product development lifecycle. Software Product Technical Knowledge: technical understanding of software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. 8+ years of product manager experience, including: 3+ years of platform, AI/ML, or data-driven product experience. Strong understanding of: AI/ML concepts (assistive, predictive, prescriptive, agentic systems) Cloud-native platforms and API ecosystems Product lifecycle in complex, cross-functional enterprise environments or ecosystems Experience with: Multi-team OKR alignments Value-based roadmapping Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or machine intelligence; industrial IoT, telematics, or connected assets; building AI-enabled or agentic workflows. Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud platforms; data platforms, event-driven architectures, and APIs. Prior experience in business case financial expression and investment analysis. Additional Details This position requires the candidate to be based in Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Dallas, TX; or Denver, CO. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
