Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantFoley is looking for a Staff Accountant to support and strengthen our accounting operations. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role will assist with core close activities, build strong reconciliations, and help the accounting team continue to scale.This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to build on their strong foundation of GAAP fundamentals while learning from an experienced team in a high-volume high-energy environment. You'll perform core accounting operations and develop skills and business knowledge to take on more.Support Core Accounting OperationsPlay an important role in month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and analyzing account activityPerform monthly cash reconciliations and account reconciliationsAssist with revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting under the guidance of senior team membersSupport audits by maintaining accurate and organized documentation and analysisBuild Strong ProcessesLeverage AI and other tools to continuously improve accounting processesSuggest and implement improvements to internal controls and documentationContribute to a reliable, high-quality operating rhythm on the accounting teamImprove Data & ReportingAnalyze data and enhance reporting to support business decision makingPartner with teammates to ensure information is accurate and completeWho You AreYou have a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field1-2 years of accounting experience, including internshipsSolid understanding of GAAP fundamentalsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyProficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis)Curious to develop a deep understanding of our business and industryClear communication skills and eagerness to collaborate across teamsA proactive mindset and strong follow-through on assigned tasksNice-to-HavesExposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite, GP, or similar platformsCoursework or interest in process improvement or workflow automationProgress toward or interest in pursuing a CPAFamiliarity with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition guidance complianceYou Might Thrive In This Role If...You're early in your career and eager to build a strong technical foundationYou enjoy following structured processes and take pride in accuracyYou're coachable and welcome feedbackYou're curious and ask questions when something doesn't make senseYou take pride in being a reliable teammate others can depend onYou're comfortable in an environment where processes continue to matureLocation: This role is hybrid from our Boston office.About UsAt Foley, we're reimagining how safety-sensitive industries hire, stay compliant, and manage risk.
