Location: Charlotte, NC | Pay Rate: $28/hour | Schedule: 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri (2:30pm - 1am)

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a dedicated Manufacturing Welder who takes pride in producing high-quality work, values safety, and thrives in a fast-paced production setting. In this role, you'll play a critical part in manufacturing HVAC equipment by delivering precision welds that meet the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Welder, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently fabricating and assembling metal components while maintaining quality and productivity standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Perform layout and fit-up work using fixtures and positioners.

• Weld various metals using Pulsed MIG, Short-Arc MIG, and Submerged Arc welding processes.

• Assemble fabricated metal products using MIG welding techniques to maximize production efficiency.

• Produce strong, smooth, non-porous, and consistent welds with proper penetration.

• Follow established welding procedures and utilize jigs and fixtures during assembly.

• Perform brazing operations on a variety of materials.

• Perform brazing operations on a variety of materials.

• Complete hand grinding and metal forming as needed.

• Operate equipment safely and report any hazards to your supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

• Assist coworkers and support production needs as required.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing welding experience using Pulsed MIG, Short-Arc MIG, or Submerged Arc welding processes.

• ASME certification.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Physical ability to weld in various positions, including kneeling, lying down, and overhead.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to successfully pass an onsite 6G welding certification test.

• Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and equipment.

• Experience performing vertical, flat, and overhead welds with excellent penetration and appearance.

• Experience operating plasma cutters and acetylene torches.

• Basic math skills, including fractions and angles.

• Ability to read tape measures, angle finders, blueprints, and cut lists.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Training in overhead crane operation.

• Ability to climb and work from ladders.

• Experience using a variety of manual and powered shop tools.

• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as production demands require.

Pay Details: $28.00 per hour
