Description:
In this position, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
This includes transferring patients for examinations and using ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
The technologist assists with the x-ray examination process.
Responsibilities include performing diagnostic X-ray procedures and ensuring appropriate operation of all X-ray imaging and related equipment.
The technologist educates, positions, immobilizes, and performs X-ray procedures effectively.
Coordination of X-ray examinations is essential to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
The candidate must follow provider imaging orders correctly and submit required images and related clinical information for interpretation.
The role requires evaluating image quality and maintaining open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
It is essential to utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies appropriately while practicing sterile technique and following infection prevention policies.
The technologist must handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines while safely performing X-ray procedures, including patient transfers.
Preparing and administering contrast according to protocol is part of the job.
Following radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety is crucial.
Experience in supervising and evaluating student radiographers in a clinical setting is expected.
