Accounting Specialist

Job Summary The Accounting Specialist aids in processing receivables, payroll, and facilitating collections for AAA Moving and Storage. Essential Functions and Duties Post receivables into accounting software subsequent to appropriate research of the payment. Communicate with customers regarding claims decisions made by the service centre. General Managers Process credit card payments for monthly storage after verifying invoices have been generated and posted to accounting software. Ensure collections efforts are conducting according to the regulations of the State of Alaska and the state within which the customer resides. Assemble paperwork to send to attorney for collection purposes, as needed. Work assigned shifts including some mandatory overtime and work on Saturdays. Other responsibilities, as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of, or ability to learn, company software Knowledge of, or ability to learn accounting software Strong interpersonal skills for communicating over the phone and through writing Knowledge of accounting/general bookkeeping procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Required Education and Experience High school diploma (Required) Prior receivables or collections experience (Preferred) Working Conditions Indoors Office Environment Sitting for long periods of time Frequent use of telephone Frequent use of computer 95% or more of job must be completed at company facility About the Company Take part in a company that has been successful for over 100 years and is still growing.
