Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Current acute care experience within the last 12 months Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit. This unit specializes in the care of newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The shift will be 12 hours overnight, three times per week. The ideal candidate will focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. The staffing ratio goal is 1:4, but it can occasionally be 1:5. Weekends will be variable based on unit needs. Candidates must have experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Candidates should be skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. Experience in managing central lines and starting IVs is essential. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. This position requires a commitment to patient care and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
