Position Overview Michelman Robinson is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist (U.S. & UK E-Billing) to join our Accounting & Billing team in Los Angeles. This position is responsible for managing the full billing lifecycle for assigned attorneys and clients, including traditional legal billing, electronic billing submissions, client compliance review, and international billing coordination. The ideal candidate will have extensive legal billing experience, strong e-billing expertise, and experience supporting international clients, particularly those located in the United Kingdom. Legal Billing & Invoice Management Perform full-cycle legal billing, including preparation, editing, finalization, and submission of client invoices. Review prebills and coordinate billing revisions with attorneys. Process billing adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and client-specific billing requirements. Monitor billing deadlines and ensure timely invoice submission. E-Billing Operations Submit invoices through various e-billing platforms, including Legal Tracker, CounselLink, Collaborati, Tymetrix 360, Passport, CounselGo, and similar systems. Ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines, billing rules, task codes, and rate structures. Troubleshoot invoice rejections and manage appeals and resubmissions. Generate and validate LEDES billing files. Prepare and process invoices for UK and international clients. Manage multi-currency invoicing and foreign currency conversions. Coordinate VAT-related billing adjustments. Support cross-border billing arrangements and client-specific invoicing protocols. Accounts Receivable & Reporting Monitor accounts receivable balances and assist with collections follow-up. Research payment discrepancies and billing deductions. Generate billing and accounts receivable reports for attorneys and firm leadership. Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and vendors regarding billing matters. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve billing workflows and reduce invoice rejections. Collaborate with Accounting, Collections, and IT teams to resolve billing and system-related issues. Maintain documentation regarding billing procedures and client billing guidelines. Qualifications Required Minimum of five (5) years of legal billing experience. Strong electronic billing experience within a law firm environment. Proficiency with major e-billing platforms and LEDES billing formats. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience billing international and UK-based clients. Knowledge of VAT billing requirements. Experience with Aderant Expert, Elite Enterprise, or comparable legal billing systems. Experience with multi-currency invoicing and international billing arrangements.
