Description of Work


Analyze all employment, salary, and personal data received on the HR/Payroll transmittal forms (PAF, PDF, I-9, W-4, etc.) in conjunction with the SAP Personnel Administration. Validate incoming materials for completeness and accuracy. Utilize independent judgment when applying UNL policies, federal/state tax regulation, and INS (immigration) regulations. Train and assist UNL staff in the completion of the HR/Payroll transmittal forms and in the on-line navigation of SAP. Serve as initial Payroll contact for walk-in employees and department staff. Assist with processing special checks and calculating tax withholding, leave payouts, and over payments.

Minimum Required Qualifications


Associate's in business administration, accounting or related field plus two years payroll and/or accounting experience required; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent computer skills in the use of word processing and spreadsheets necessary. Detail oriented, accurate and the ability to perform work in a timely manner necessary.

Preferred Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or related field; experience in a higher education setting preferred. Experience with ERP and payroll preferred.
