About the Role

The Company is seeking a President & CEO to lead its mission of advancing conservation, protecting access to clean water and abundant fisheries, and supporting the rights of recreational anglers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the organization, with a focus on board governance, government affairs, industry relations, revenue diversification, and staff leadership. This role demands a leader with a deep understanding of sportfishing as an industry, a community, and a shared responsibility, and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from manufacturers and retailers to policymakers and conservation partners. Applicants for the President & CEO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of executive leadership experience, preferably in the outdoors industry or a trade association, and a proven track record in membership growth and business development. A passion for sportfishing, conservation, and outdoor recreation is essential. The role requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills, as well as a working understanding of public policy, government relations, and advocacy, particularly in the areas of fisheries management, conservation, and public lands. The ideal candidate will be adept at building and sustaining relationships, both within the organization and with external partners, and will be committed to the long-term sustainability and growth of the sportfishing community.
