Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Infection Preventionist (IP) .

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about resident care, infection prevention, staff education, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily oversight of nursing services.

• Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing supervisors, nurses, and nursing assistants.

• Monitor nursing practices, resident care, staffing, and clinical outcomes.

• Assist with staff education, performance management, and professional development.

• Support regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and quality assurance initiatives.

• Oversee the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program.

• Conduct infection surveillance, audits, infection control rounds, and compliance reviews.

• Monitor hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation practices, and infection prevention procedures.

• Investigate infections and outbreaks and implement appropriate corrective actions.

• Provide infection prevention education and training to all departments.

• Maintain accurate infection control documentation and reports.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, pharmacy, laboratory services, and interdisciplinary team members.

• Participate in QAPI initiatives and other clinical improvement projects.

• Assist the DON with special projects and assume leadership responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license in good standing.

• Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, or Rehabilitation setting.

• Prior ADON, Nurse Manager, Unit Manager, Infection Preventionist, or nursing leadership experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements.

• Infection prevention certification or specialized training is a plus.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to educate, motivate, and lead clinical staff.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality resident care.
