A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Nassau County is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing.

This is a nursing administration position for an RN with prior long-term care leadership experience. The ADON will work alongside the DON and nursing supervisors and will have responsibility for clinical follow-up, investigations, quality programs and regulatory matters.

Primary areas of responsibility:

• Assist with the daily oversight of nursing services

• Review incidents, accidents and resident care concerns

• Complete investigations and follow up on identified issues

• Review clinical documentation and nursing practices

• Participate in quality assurance and QAPI activities

• Assist with preparation for state and federal surveys

• Follow up on regulatory findings and corrective action plans

• Provide direction, education and support to nursing personnel

• Work with other departments when resident care or clinical issues arise

• Monitor compliance with facility policies and applicable regulations

Qualifications

• Current NYS Registered Nurse license

• Previous nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility

• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical standards

• Experience with investigations, audits, quality improvement and/or regulatory surveys

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple issues and follow through to resolution

Compensation: $120,000–$135,000 annually
