Job Title: Enclosure Assembler

Location: Sealy, TX
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Operations Manager

Position Summary

Precision Custom Enclosures is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Enclosure Assembler to join our production team. This position is responsible for assembling custom industrial electrical enclosures and fabricated metal products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, works well in a team environment, and is committed to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assemble stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel electrical enclosures and fabricated assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
• Install components including:
• • Back panels
  • Ground bars
  • Mounting brackets
  • Gland plates
  • Door hardware
  • Hinges
  • Latches
  • Handles
  • Nameplates
  • Copper bus assemblies
  • Other customer-specified hardware
• Verify all required parts and hardware are available before beginning assembly.
• Use hand tools, power tools, drills, taps, rivet tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment safely and correctly.
• Perform drilling, tapping, deburring, fitting, and light modification work as required.
• Ensure assemblies meet customer drawings and company quality standards.
• Inspect finished assemblies for fit, finish, cosmetic appearance, and functionality.
• Report damaged or missing materials and manufacturing discrepancies.
• Package completed products for shipment while protecting cosmetic surfaces.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles.
• Assist other production departments when workload requires.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read tape measures and use common measuring tools.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and work throughout an 8-10 hour shift.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience assembling industrial electrical enclosures.
• Experience working with stainless steel fabrication.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to become certified).
• Basic understanding of electrical control panels or industrial equipment.
• Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing travelers.

• Able to tolerate heat during summer.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing facility producing custom industrial electrical enclosures. Employees are expected to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, and gloves when appropriate.
