Labor & Employment Legal Assistant - Syracuse

Hancock Estabrook, LLP, a well-established Upstate New York law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its Labor & Employment Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on a wide range of employment law and litigation matters, providing essential support in document preparation, and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented. Responsibilities Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials. File documents in state and federal courts and with administrative agencies such as the EEOC, NLRB, NYSDHR, NYSDOL, and USDOL. Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely filings and responses. Coordinate and manage attorney schedules, meetings, and client communications. Assist with document production, deposition preparation, and trial or hearing materials. Handle client intake, engagement letters, billing, and time entry processes. Provide general administrative support to attorneys and collaborate effectively with team members across the firm. Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience working in a law office or legal environment required. Prior experience in federal and state court litigation is desirable but not required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.? Actually . Keep closing properly. The pay range for this position is $25.00-$30.00 per hour and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
