Accounting Manager

Job Summary The Accounting Manager will lead the AR/AP team and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, managing month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Duties / Responsibilities Supervise and manage the daily operations of AR/AP, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Coordinate with external auditors and support the audit process. Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets. Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting. Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management. Assist the Controller for tax reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff performance. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Familiarity with ERP system implementations or upgrades. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
