AV Support Technician

Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced AV Support Technician Contractor to join their Workplace Technology team. In this role, you will be the front line for all things conference room AV — keeping every meeting space running smoothly, day in and day out, for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll own daily AV sweeps, troubleshoot everything from a dropped Google Meet call to a misbehaving room scheduler, and be the person we call on to stand up a new conference room from the ground up. You'll also play an active role in supporting company events, running the AV for productions out of our All-Hands booth and training room event space alongside our broadcast and events teams.\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Perform daily AV sweeps of all conference rooms to proactively catch and resolve issues before meetings start.
\n
• Support and assist employees using conference room AV systems, both on-site and remote, including Google Meet, projectors, displays, and audio/video conferencing equipment.
\n
• Troubleshoot and resolve Google Meet hardware and software issues, including Google Meet room kits, cameras, and in-room controllers.
\n
• Support and maintain the Logitech Rally line of products (cameras, speakers, mics, and Rally Bar/Rally Bar Mini) across conference rooms.
\n
• Support and troubleshoot Neat Bar Pro systems, including connectivity, audio/video quality, and firmware issues.
\n
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers, ensuring rooms show accurate availability and booking status.
\n
• Know and work with your points of escalation to continuously improve the end-user experience.
\n
• Train employees on the proper use of conference room AV equipment.
\n
• Respond to support escalations from the IT Helpdesk, both in person and via our ticketing system, and triage hardware stacks as needed.
\n
• Manage inventory for AV and IT hardware and software, including tracking, ordering, and stocking of spares and consumables.

• Provide technical input in the selection and management of AV integrators, technology vendors, and managed-service partners.
\n
• Design, install and configure new conference rooms from the ground up, including mounting displays and cameras, running and terminating cabling, and installing and provisioning room hardware.
\n
• Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems (DSPs, mixers, microphones, speakers) to ensure clear, consistent audio quality.
\n
• Diagnose and resolve complex, end-to-end conference room issues spanning hardware, software, network, and scheduling systems.
\n
• Document room configurations, signal flow diagrams, and equipment inventories for all supported spaces.
\n
• Assist with cabling, rack builds, and low-voltage wiring for new or renovated conference rooms as needed.

• Operate and run live AV production for internal company events out of the All-Hands event booth, serving as day-to-day hands-on technical support for All-Hands meetings, town halls, and other streamed events.
\n
• Operate Q-SYS systems for event audio processing, DSP configuration, and signal routing during live productions.
\n
• Set up, configure, and operate Epiphan Pearl 2 encoders for recording and streaming All-Hands and training room events.
\n
• Configure and troubleshoot Google Meet as the hybrid/remote contribution and streaming platform for live events.
\n
• Operate Blackmagic switchers for live camera switching and program video during events.
\n
• Operate mixing consoles to provide core audio support — levels, mic mixes, and program sound — for live events and presentations.
\n
• Extend event AV support beyond the All-Hands booth by setting up, running, and tearing down AV for events held in the training room and other secondary event spaces.
\n
• Perform pre-event technical checks (audio, video switching, camera framing, encoder/streaming status, and Google Meet connectivity) and conduct basic run-throughs ahead of live events.
\n
• Monitor the live event signal chain during productions and troubleshoot issues in real time, escalating to the Broadcast Lead or events team for complex or high-stakes production issues.
\n
• Coordinate with the Events team and Broadcast Lead on run-of-show technical requirements, equipment needs, and staffing for upcoming events.
\n
• Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and basic troubleshooting on event AV equipment, including Q-SYS processors, Epiphan encoders, Blackmagic switchers, mixing consoles, cameras, and microphones.
\n
• Assist with cabling, rack organization, and configuration changes for the All-Hands booth and training room event AV systems.
\n
• Help maintain documentation for event AV setups, signal flow, and standard operating procedures for recurring event types.

• Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks in Confluence for conference room and event AV systems, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures.
\n
• Monitor conference room AV system health using remote monitoring and management tools, applying firmware and software updates as needed.
\n
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for AV equipment procurement, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
\n
• Stay current with emerging conference room AV, event production, and unified communications (UC) technology trends and recommend improvements to existing systems.

• 5+ years of experience in IT/AV support roles, with a focus on conference room and meeting-space AV support.
\n
• Hands-on experience with the Logitech Rally line of products (cameras, speakers, mics, Rally Bar/Rally Bar Mini).
\n
• Hands-on experience with Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video bar systems.
\n
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers.
\n
• Strong, hands-on experience troubleshooting Google Meet hardware and software in a conference room and live event setting.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot a conference room from the ground up — including mounting, cabling, configuration, and testing.
\n
• Hands-on experience operating live event AV equipment, including video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic), audio mixing consoles, and streaming/recording encoders (e.g., Epiphan Pearl 2).
\n
• Working experience with Q-SYS or similar audio DSP/control platforms in a live event or production environment.
\n
• Comfort running the technical side of a live event (All-Hands, town hall, or similar) with moderate supervision, not just assisting.
\n
• A positive, service-oriented attitude with strong customer service instincts.
\n
• Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and effective when troubleshooting live, in-use meeting rooms and live events.
\n
• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (50+ lbs) as needed for installs, room builds, and event setup/teardown.
\n
• Basic to intermediate networking skills, including an understanding of servers, switches, WiFi, and AV-over-IP fundamentals.
\n
• Experience with administration of Apple computer products using enterprise management tools.
\n
• Knowledge and hands-on experience managing Windows laptops and desktops.
\n
• Experience using and managing ticket-based enterprise workflow/ticketing systems.
\n
• Familiarity with common AV signal types and connectors (HDMI, SDI, Dante, USB-C, AVoIP).
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting information to end-users of all technical levels.

• Preferred but not required AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification, or actively working toward one.
\n
• Experience with additional conferencing hardware ecosystems (Poly, Yealink, Crestron, or similar).
\n
• Experience with control system programming/configuration (Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS).
\n
• Experience with audio DSP platforms (Q-SYS, Biamp, or Extron).
\n
• Prior experience as an event or broadcast AV technician, running audio/video for live corporate events, webinars, or streamed productions.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and schematics.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.
