And we invest in our world-class team, empowering our colleagues to unpack their potential, because we believe when our people grow, so does our business.Job DescriptionPosition Title: Shift SupervisorPosition Summary: Provides shift leadership and supervision to the individual shifts to support Stretch Blow Molding, Injection Molding, and Reheat and Blow Molding, in order to meet production-planning goals.Ensures that all production-planning goals are met, heldware and regrind are reduced, and labor/safety goals are met.Adheres to and maintains good manufacturing practices coupled with quality plan expectations.Essential Functions:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.Production Operations:Ensure production operations are adhering to schedules established by determining work priorities and scheduling;Coordinate production activities for manufacturing areas to insure productions goals are achieved;Complete and submit production related paperwork;Ensure that manpower is properly utilized in order to achieve MES goal of 90%;Responsible for insuring that heldware and regrind are maintained at a level that meets the goal established for the plant.Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)Quality:Ensure that all Quality Plans are understood and followed by staff;Confirm that all quality checks are being performed by all production personnel as established by the Quality Plans;Work closely with the quality inspectors and supervisor to identify and minimize quality defects and complaints.Personnel:Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by:Providing definition of job dutiesProviding training opportunities for staffConducting performance evaluationsDefining criteria for personnel advancementAdminister coaching/counseling as required in a timely mannerProvide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessmentsEnforce personnel policies and procedures; complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner;Maintain safe working conditions with a goal of zero recordable accidents and zero lost time accidents;Control employee overtime hours.Manufacturing Support:Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.Actively participate in production management team meetings as requested.Recommend/justify equipment/tooling purchases.Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO)Authorities:· Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management· Report any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard· Make management or appropriate parties aware of any potential nonconforming issue or mechanical problemsAuthority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessaryQualification Requirements:Education:Associates Degree in Business, Operations Management or equivalent experience.Technical Skills:Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinatesDemonstrated ability to work well in a team environmentFlexibility to work some overtime, as necessaryWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, WordExperience:3-5 years production supervision experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment.Safety Competency Requirements:Safety Leadership – embodies commitment for a safe workplace; acts as a role model on safety leadership, activities and communicationAccountability –holds self-accountable evidenced by say/do ratio, initiative and ownership actions (such as ensuring safety is more important than productivity)Communication – ability to communicate safety, goals and company expectations with appropriate levels of the organization; create clear, timely audience appropriate messages (both written and verbal).Engagement – communicate and support the vision of plant leadership; celebrate the wins, and ensure employees actively participate in safety-related activities.Team Development – understand the development needs of employees in your organization; drive the culture of employees as safety leaders; champion talent development from pre-hire to continuous learning.People Agility – understand personal strengths and weaknesses; leads by example; promotes change through listening skills and seeking frequent input from employees; is genuine and approachable; firm but fair – consistent.Problem Solving/Conflict Resolution - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; mitigates relationship conflicts and encourages constructive (problem-solving) conflict.Organization Relationships:Reports to Production ManagerInteracts with Human Resources, Planner, Quality Control, Warehouse, Tool Room, and Maintenance.As needed interacts with Raw Material Suppliers, Customers.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
