Title Dental hygienist Job Description Provide thorough dental hygiene treatment including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing, and local anesthetic administration (where permitted). Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, charting periodontal health, taking radiographs/x-rays, and monitoring vital signs. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutritional counseling, and preventive health strategies. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols through diligent sterilization and workspace management. Manage scheduling, accurately document treatment, and participate in patient recall systems. Assist with inventory management and place orders for supplies and patient education materials. Support office functions including answering phones, record organization, and contributing to a positive team environment. Salary Range full-time $50 - $60 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Shift & Schedule 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in Santa Fe; Wednesdays in Los Alamos (location TBD). Office closed Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Requirements Dentrix Eaglesoft Open Dental Valid Registered Dental Hygienist license approved for practice in New Mexico. Completion of a dental hygiene program with at least two years of post-secondary education. Proficiency in performing prophylaxis, scaling/root planing, and dental radiography. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues. Basic computer skills with preferred familiarity in Dentrix Ascend or similar dental software. Ability to follow infection control standards and maintain patient confidentiality. Preferences Experience with Dentrix Ascend dental software. Previous experience in a holistic or integrative dental practice. Demonstrated leadership and team motivation abilities.
