Senior Manager, Manufacturing Systems Engineering (ASRS)

Amgen seeks a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Systems Engineering to lead the engineering team supporting automated warehouse systems at its Ohio facility. This role combines operational leadership with strategic technical oversight of ASRS, AGVs, and warehouse control systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop engineering team; set technical priorities, training, and performance expectations
- Establish 24/7 support coverage, escalation procedures, and recovery protocols for automated systems
- Coordinate technical response to equipment failures and material flow disruptions across warehouse operations
- Monitor system performance metrics and drive corrective actions and reliability improvements
- Lead engineering projects for system upgrades, expansions, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Leadership experience managing engineering teams and cross-functional technical staff
- Deep expertise in automated warehouse systems, ASRS, AGVs, or material handling equipment
- Strong background in warehouse control systems, SAP EWM, or similar enterprise software
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, compliance, and quality requirements in regulated environments
- Experience with system design, integration, commissioning, and lifecycle management
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system failures and lead root cause analysis
