About the Role We are seeking an experienced Buyer II to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for managing the procurement of materials required to support production schedules, inventory objectives, and overall supply chain performance. The ideal candidate will have strong purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Execute purchase orders to support production requirements, inventory goals, and manufacturing schedules Monitor supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost metrics Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, and lead times to mitigate shortages and excess inventory Expedite materials and resolve supplier‑related issues impacting production Review MRP messages and exception reports and take appropriate action Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms within established guidelines Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP system data Coordinate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, and changes Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and supplier qualification activities Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies Participate in cost‑reduction initiatives, supplier development efforts, and continuous improvement projects Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment Experience working with ERP systems Knowledge of MRP, Bills of Material (BOMs), and production planning concepts Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Effective communication and relationship‑building abilities Preferred Experience purchasing direct materials in a manufacturing setting SAP experience strongly preferred Experience supporting production readiness and material shortage resolution Background in regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar industries APICS or related supply chain certification Skills & Competencies Material planning and inventory management Supplier relationship management Data‑driven decision making Time management and prioritization Attention to detail Cross‑functional collaboration Strong Excel and ERP system proficiency Work Environment Hybrid schedule with a combination of onsite and remote work Standard business hours Collaborative, fast‑paced manufacturing environment Opportunity to work closely with supply chain leadership and cross‑functional teams Compensation and Benefits Determining compensation for this role depends on factors such as skill set, experience, training, licensure, certification, office location, and business needs. Base salary range will be provided in accordance with local laws and may be complemented by discretionary bonuses and participation in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s retirement plan.
