Litigation Legal Assistant / Secretary – Product Liability Defense

Remote or Hybrid | California | $75,000–$105,000 + Paid Overtime

A prestigious global law firm with 45 offices worldwide is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Secretary to support its Product Liability Defense Litigation practice group in San Francisco.

Product liability experience is preferred but not required. Strong defense litigation experience is essential.

Position Highlights

• Remote: Fully remote for candidates living more than 2 hours from Los Angeles or San Francisco
• Hybrid: 1–2 days in-office for candidates living within 2 hours of either city
• Los Angeles Salary: $75,000–$95,000
• San Francisco Bay Area Salary: $85,000–$105,000
• Paid Overtime: Approximately 2–10 hours per week
• Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Attorney Support: 5–7 associates and partners based in San Francisco
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for a discretionary salary increase in July 2027

You'll work with a well-respected group of litigation attorneys, an excellent manager, and a knowledgeable, helpful support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and memoranda.
• Handle e-filing in California state and federal courts .
• Organize and maintain litigation files and case documents.
• Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, and deadlines.
• Coordinate client meetings, conferences, and domestic/international travel.
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, and internal staff.
• Prepare expense reports, check requests, and occasional time entries.
• Provide administrative and litigation support in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with paralegals, attorneys, and other support departments.

Required Qualifications

• 3–15 years of law firm defense litigation experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal
• Product Liability Defense Litigation experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in a mid-sized to large law firm
• Strong iManage experience
• Proficiency with California state and federal court e-filing
• Stable employment history, ideally with 3+ years in prior positions
• Excellent document formatting, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and support several attorneys
• High school diploma required; college education preferred

Important: This position requires defense-side litigation experience. Plaintiff-side litigation experience alone will not meet the firm's requirements.
