Job Description and Duties The Digital Media and Marketing Specialist (DMS) works under the Chief of Administrative Services and collaborates with the Manager of Communication and External Affairs to plan, organize, and oversee print and digital communications initiatives for CAPIAA. Key responsibilities include: Designing and producing visual communications, digital/social media content, and video production. Managing event‑based media and other outreach efforts aligned with CAPIAA’s goals. Developing comprehensive communication strategies for API Equity Budget grantees and statewide toolkits. Crafting engaging messaging to build stakeholder engagement, boost public awareness, and encourage community participation. Utilizing creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking at a professional and technical public relations level to enhance CAPIAA’s visibility and impact. Minimum Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. Eligible applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications listed in the Classification Specification for Analyst III. Professional experience in digital media and communications, including visual design and social media management. Desirable Qualifications Proven experience with digital media and communications, with a strong portfolio of previous work. Familiarity with industry‑standard marketing strategies, tools, and analytics platforms. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information. Expertise in analyzing marketing data to inform decision‑making. Experience in community engagement and outreach. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. Mission‑driven, highly organized, creative, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Multilingual skills representing AAPIA languages. Familiarity with graphic and video editing software such as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, CapCut, and email marketing platforms like WordPress, Constant Contact, Mailchimp.
