Fulfill, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, has been dedicated to addressing hunger in the Jersey Shore community since 1984. Our mission is to accelerate food security throughout Monmouth & Ocean Counties by leading a collaborative movement that connects people to food and related resources while also addressing systemic barriers to self-sufficiency and well-being. Fulfill proudly works with a network of nearly 300 partners, including soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters to provide 1.3 million meals per month to more than 130,000 families, children, seniors and veterans in need. Committed to more than just food distribution, Fulfill also offers connections to affordable healthcare options, Medicaid, SNAP and other services to help neighbors lead healthy lives with the food they need to thrive.

Our headquarters is in Neptune with a satellite branch (The BEAT Center) in Toms River.

Who You Are

The Accounting Assistant provides administrative and accounting support to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This position is responsible for recording bank and merchant deposits, entering invoice data into the accounts payable system, maintaining accounting records, and supporting the overall efficiency of the Finance Department.

What You'll Do

Cash Receipts and Deposits

• Enter and record daily bank deposits in the accounting system.

• Record and reconcile credit card merchant deposits and other electronic payment transactions.

• Verify deposit activity against supporting documentation and bank records.

• Assist with researching and resolving discrepancies related to cash receipts and deposits.

Accounts Payable Support

• Enter vendor invoices into the accounts payable system accurately and timely.

• Review invoices for completeness and proper supporting documentation.

• Verify account coding and routing of invoices for approval.

• Maintain electronic and physical invoice records in accordance with department procedures.

• Assist with vendor inquiries regarding invoice status and payment processing.

Data Entry and Record Maintenance

• Perform high-volume data entry with a high degree of accuracy.

• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with account reconciliations and reporting as requested.

• Support month-end and year-end accounting activities.

Administrative Support

• Prepare, scan, file, and maintain accounting documents.

• Assist with managing donor information and cross-functional projects

• Assist with audits and requests for financial documentation.

• Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department.

Miscellaneous

• Assists with Fulfill's file retention system.

• May perform various tasks associated with special projects or events.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

What You Bring

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to three years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or financial data entry experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with accounting, ERP, or accounts payable systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with team members of diverse backgrounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is value, goal and deadline oriented; periodically may work extended hours; some driving; some bending and lifting, up to 10 pounds, may be required for filing; extensive computer work; limited warehouse environment.

Salary range: Fulfill is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

$55,000-$60,000 per year

NJ passed a Pay Transparency Law which requires NJ based hiring to include a compensation range on each job posting. This compensation range is presented in good faith for candidates that are hired in these roles will be presented a salary within the range stated on the job posting.
