Senior QA Engineer

Our Project Management Office team, within our expansive Technology department, is looking to bring on an experienced QA engineer to help us release high-quality software in a timely manner. A typical day would have you working closely with other Development, offshore team members, and stakeholders to design, write, execute manual test cases, and report on the results in a Microsoft TFS with multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities:

• Creating and executing manual test cases, plans and tests
• Reporting, analyzing, and tracking defects
• Assisting with software releases
• Running SQL queries to validate results
• Participating in a Scrum team, team stand-ups, grooming, planning meetings, and more Agile celebrations
• Designing test scope, approaches, and strategies; creating test plans and cases, as appropriate
• Designing or locating test data; ensuring that appropriate tests are executed—both during development and upon deployment
• Collaborating with team members to identify areas of high risk and root cause of problems; working closely with team and developers to detect, prioritize, and fix defects
• Providing status and risk assessment for management

Qualifications:

• QA experience in support of integrated systems is a must
• Strong manual testing with SQL; proficiency with SQL queries
• Prior work in an Agile environment; Scrum desired
• Experience with automated tools—ideally Selenium or a similar product
• 3-8 years' testing experience in information services/technology
• Financial or regulated SaaS systems experience
• Experience in Agile SDLC
• Experience working in a Microsoft environment; TFS and Visual Studio experience a plus
• Familiarity with testing web-based applications
• Experience with source control and bug-tracking systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in manual testing; automated testing a plus
