Sam QA Analyst

The SAM QA Analyst day-to-day activities include partnering with engineers, data scientists, and product owners to understand and validate the technical and functional architecture for our search and match product. QA activities include requirement review, test plan and test case creation, test case execution, and documentation of bugs/risks/resolutions. Consult and collaborate with the team to provide timely and actionable insights.

The candidate must be inquisitive, detail oriented, and highly motivated, and they must possess excellent communications skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, changing, high pressure environment. The role will focus on the following areas and require knowledge & skills outlined below:

• Analytics: Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, data analysis, presenting findings, and providing evidence based guidance.
• Knowledge: SQL (Oracle, MSSQL, bigquery), Elasticsearch a plus, Agile, Jira, Confluence, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Data/Process Flow Diagrams
• Data Engineering: Working knowledge with BigQuery and various relational databases, data flow architecture, knowledge of system integrations, APIs, and the capabilities and limitations as a result of working with big data in a global organization.
• Data Modeling and Data Systems: Understand schemas, models and how data gets structured.

• Organizational Skills: Completes work independently, with some supervision. Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Work with the product owner and team to prioritize business and information needs. Translate complex technical designs into test plans and test cases. 20%

• QA Execution: Acquires and interprets documents and requirements from engineers, data scientists and the product owner to create well structured test strategies to ensure a defect free product launch. Uncover and document gaps/bugs/risks in technical architecture or functional requirements. Working with the team to convey issues and risks. Regression testing. Defect tracking. 40%

• Team: Translate (written and verbally) research findings, requirements, and business needs to the engineering team to ensure accurate products are produced. Provide status updates to team members on a regular basis and clearly escalate issues and risks to management as needed. Use information gathered through prior experience, knowledge sharing with other team members, education and training to resolve issues and remove project barriers. Assisting with scrum ceremonies as needed. 20%

• Product Owner & Stakeholder Collaboration: Aligns requirements and research with product owner expectations. Responsive and diplomatic. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of company personnel. Ability to maintain positive relationships through changing project requirements and priorities in a deadline-driven, dynamic work environment.
