Senior Accountant

Job Duties

Run full-cycle payroll, including W-2s, year-end filings, and quarterly payroll tax reporting.

Prepare and post journal entries.

Support accounts payable: coding, entry, and processing.

Support accounts receivable: invoicing, billing, and collections follow-up.

Meet regularly with project managers to review job costing, validate costs against budgets, and enter project costs accurately into Foundation accounting software.

Serve as the point of contact for employees on pay and reimbursement questions.

Record inventory entries in coordination with the warehouse manager.

Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and support the month-end close.

Perform or assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.

Assist with financial statements and supporting schedules.

Analyze financial data and investigate variances.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Minimum Experience Required

• 2 to 3+ years of accounting experience, with construction or contractor accounting strongly preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Foundation, or comparable construction accounting software.

• Working knowledge of job costing and how project financials flow through to the general ledger.

• Accuracy, follow-through, and comfort working directly with field and project staff.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing-wage reporting is preferred.
