Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 settings
• Strong knowledge of adapted instructional strategies and assistive technologies
• Ability to collaborate closely with other educators, staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and consultation services to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
• Adapt curriculum materials and activities to ensure accessibility
• Assess students’ strengths, needs, and progress, and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and related service providers
• Offer training and guidance to staff members on best practices and use of assistive technology
• Travel within the district as required by the floating caseload
