Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
• Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting atmosphere and promote patient comfort and confidence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all collected samples and related activities.
• Operate in a manner that upholds safety and confidentiality standards at all times.
• Perform daily tasks independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of all duties.
• Maintain a professional environment that reflects organizational commitment and positive public image.

Required Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
• Accurate keyboard and data entry skills for record keeping and specimen tracking.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently with confidence and professionalism.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience required; 1+ years preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Reliable transportation to the worksite, with a commute time within 20-25 minutes.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to punctuality and attendance are essential.
