Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring an active VA or Compact license and recent EPIC experience.

Job Details

• Work in a medical cardiac step-down unit (6B, Cardiac Tele) with 24 rooms and a 1:5 patient ratio,
• Care for adult to geriatric patients with cardiac conditions including CHF, MI, unstable angina, pericardial disease, arrhythmias, pacemaker/ICD issues, and post-cardiac catheterization patients,
• Unit also cares for med/surg patients,
• Night shift schedule of 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00), working 36 or 48 hours per week,
• 13-week assignment length,
• Floating required in rotation with client staff per facility policy,
• On-call may apply in certain areas such as OT, IR, and Cath Lab,

Job Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,
• BLS and ACLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required,
• Cardiac telemetry experience within the past year required,
• EPIC experience of 6+ months within the past 12 months required,
• Must attend EPIC training class unless previously employed at the facility within the past 6 months,

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac and med/surg patients on a step-down unit,
• Complete up to 7 hours of non-billable training modules during orientation,
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with exemptions subject to CMS guideline compliance,
• COVID vaccination or qualified exemption required, subject to CMS guideline compliance,
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility,
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler,
• RTO must be submitted upfront and is approved at manager discretion; minimal RTO requests preferred and some holiday coverage expected,
• On-call staff must reside within 30 miles or 30 minutes of the facility
