Job Title Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) / Stepdown Location Asheville, North Carolina Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiovascular and vascular surgery stepdown unit, managing post-operative patients following procedures such as open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomy Care for overflow medical cardiology patients presenting with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, and related diagnoses Perform and manage epidural care, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander protocols, and cardiac drip management including vasoactive and antiarrhythmic infusions Maintain a patient assignment of up to 1:5 ratio in collaboration with charge RN, PCTs, and HUC team members Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner using Cerner EMR Float as needed to other stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding units per facility guidelines Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility Minimum 2 years of RN experience Stepdown (PCU/IMC) experience required Telemetry experience required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Proficiency with Cerner EMR and experience with Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) within the past year CVICU experience Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and strong team collaboration Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a high-acuity, specialized cardiovascular stepdown environment with a well-established and supportive clinical team No on-call requirements, with a structured weekend commitment of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 771162.
