Your Role on the Team Under the general supervision of the Payroll Operations Manager in the College of Health Sciences (COHS), the Payroll Analyst coordinates, processes, and performs payroll functions in UCPath and the Time Reporting System (TRS). These responsibilities include UCPath entries, serving as the Department Time Administrator (DTA), processing salary cost transfers (SCT), separations, and various other payroll transactions and adjustments. Creates and pulls reports for analysis and applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve a variety of payroll issues. Works on payroll problems where analysis of situations requires data review of a variety of factors including employee labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accrual, and overtime. Uses payroll professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve a variety of payroll issues. Works on payroll problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. What It Takes to be Successful Required: Working knowledge of many payroll processes, policies, procedures, and organization-specific computer application programs Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills Verbal, written, and active listening communication skills Interpersonal and customer service skills Good organizational skills and ability to multitask Problem-solving, problem identification, and reasoning skills Intermediate mathematical skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, faculty, staff personnel, and financial information Demonstrated critical thinking skills Ability to work independently to analyze situations, interpret data, identify relevant factors, and formulate logical conclusions Experience using Excel to organize and analyze data and create tables, charts, graphs, and reports Ability to read and write in English Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students Skill to organize, prioritize, and complete assignments in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute as both an individual and team member Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as a member of a team Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training 2-5 years of experience with BA/BS, or equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Working knowledge of organizational processes, procedures, rules, and regulations Experience in Payroll Personnel, UCPath, and/or Time Reporting System (TRS) Demonstrated experience in payroll analysis Working knowledge of UC Staff and Academic Personnel payroll policies, procedures, and collective bargaining contracts Special Conditions: Exercise the utmost discretion in managing sensitive information learned in the course of performing their duties.
