Landscape Equipment Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and respectful Landscape Equipment Operator to maintain cemetery landscapes using ride-on mowers, tractors, and related equipment. This position requires precision, safety awareness, and professionalism while working in a sensitive environment. The ideal candidate has experience operating commercial mowing equipment and tractors while maintaining a high standard of care and respect for cemetery property and visitors. JOB TITLE: LANDSCAPE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR EXEMPT: NO JOB TYPE: Full-time DAYS: Monday - Friday REPORTS TO: Sr. Crew Supervisor Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate ride-on mowers, zero-turn mowers, and tractors for cemetery lawn maintenance Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and weed control around headstones, monuments, mausoleums, and memorial areas Tractor attachments safely operated such as trailers, spreaders, aerators, and grading implements Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance Load, transport, and secure equipment properly Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipment Follow all safety procedures, cemetery regulations and OSHA guidelines Demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity when working around funeral services and visitors Work collaboratively with crew members and follow direction from Senior Crew Supervisors Notifying crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area Follow company core values, Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, Quality, & Service Other duties may be assigned Qualifications Prior experience in landscape maintenance, preferably within a cemetery environment Proven experience operating commercial ride-on mowers and tractors Strong understanding of safety practices Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions Understanding of safe equipment operation and basic mechanical troubleshooting Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under Senior Crew Supervisors Skills & Competencies Safe and efficient operation of heavy landscaping equipment Understanding of cemetery grounds standards and service sensitivity Time management and reliability Basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment care Professional and respectful demeanor Proficient in English and Spanish is a plus Physical Requirements Physically demanding tasks include bending, lifting, kneeling, prolonged standing and/or sitting, and repetitive tasks Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes. Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds Work Environement The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
