Senior Accounts Payable Specialist (Yardi) | Real Estate

Job Description Job Description We have an IMMEDIATE NEED for an Accounts Payable Specialist reporting to our Assistant Controller. This position handles our corporate payables out of our LA headquarters office at 12302 Exposition Blvd., near Olympic and Bundy just to the west of the Metro Station. We require a minimum of 15 years’ payables experience working in the payables function at a real estate management or development company processing transactions for multiple sets of books with at least 5 years using Yardi Voyager 7. Starting salary is $75,000 - $85,000 with annual performance reviews. We offer paid vacation/sick leave, choice of medical insurance by PPO or HMO from Blue Shield, dental and disability insurance after one month of employment. After six months of employment, you may join our 401K plan with a 100% company match on the first $6,500.00 contributed with 100% immediate vesting. Our office hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30am - 5:00pm on Friday. We do not offer flex scheduling or remote work. Key responsibilities of this job are as follows: We have a mature staff of 10 at our corporate office. We have no entry-level positions. We require a minimum of 15 years' experience with the use of a fully integrated real estate accounting system, preferably Yardi Voyager 7. Timely processing of accounts payable activity for multiple ownership entities using a standard chart of accounts. Payables consist of paper invoices and recurring direct debits to our bank accounts which must be matched and posted daily as reported by the bank. About 70% of our payables are recurring. Scan or import invoices into our paperless payables system, assign to a property and code either from scratch or using an existing AP template. Route the invoices online using an established workflow for approval. Monitor approval status as needed. Matching of bills paid by paper check. Most of our payments are made either by EFT or by checks printed and mailed by Yardi from a remote location. Paper checks are printed locally for many utility bills so the check can be sent with the payment stub from the invoice. Checks > $20,000 require backup to be attached to the locally printed check. Responding to vendor inquiries by phone call or email. Assist the Assistant Controller with bank reconciliations of assigned properties. Backup on office phones in case of illness or vacations.
