A Day in the Life of an Automotive Sales Consultant As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you sell and lease new and used vehicles at one of our automobile dealerships. You are eager, driven, ethical, and honest. You love meeting new people and making personal connections easily. With a friendly and helpful demeanor, you greet customers who enter the dealership showroom or lot, fully explain the features and benefits of each vehicle, and financing and leasing alternatives. You listen and solve problems, ask the right questions, and find solutions to customers' needs. You prepare and submit all paperwork properly, and get sold vehicles ready for delivery. You follow up with prospects and keep your vehicle and industry knowledge up to date. Your professionalism, persistence, and customer focus help you meet and exceed the standards set for gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications for an Automotive Sales Consultant High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Basic computer skills Ability to quickly learn and remember federal, state and local laws governing retail auto sales Ability to understand equity and values, and explain depreciation to customers Sales ability Any sales experience would be helpful. Our higher-volume dealerships may require more experience. You should be customer-oriented, professional in appearance and demeanor, goal-oriented, a team player, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work Schedule The schedule for this full-time position can vary depending on business needs. You would generally work 40+ hours in 5 days per week , including weekends and holidays .
